The Secretariat of the Association shall be located at a place as may be determined by the Assembly of Governors. It may be changed by a consensus of the Assembly of Governors ( Article 1, Paragraph 3 of the AACB statutes)

As proposed by the Assembly of Governors at its 25th ordinary meeting held on August 16, 2001 in Johannesburg, South Africa, the AACB Secretariat is located at the Headquarters of Banque Centrale des Etats de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (BCEAO), in Dakar, Senegal.
