Welcome to the Bank of Namibia The Bank of Namibia was established in 1990 by means of an act of parliament (Section 2 of the Bank of Namibia Act: Act no. 15 of 1997, as amended in 2004) to promote efficient payment system mechanisms, effective banking supervision, reserve management and economic research in order to implement appropriate monetary policy and proactively offer relevant financial and fiscal advise to all stakeholders. Since its inception in 1990, the Bank has developed into a professional and credible organization with institutional competence.
